INC. Facilities Awarded ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification
Lancaster,
PA – January 30, 2003 – BURLE INDUSTRIES, INC. and
BURLE Electro-Optics, Inc. announces its quality systems have
received certification to the new ISO 9001:2000 standard. BURLE
has been continuously certified since 1992.
Certification
was granted by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI)
on January 17, 2003 and January 20, 2003 respectively based
on extensive audits of BURLE INDUSTRIES, INC. in Lancaster,
PA and BURLE Electro-Optics, Inc. facilities in Sturbridge Ma.
The audit covers the firm’s state-of-the-art production
capabilities for design and manufacturing of electron tube products
in BURLE’s Lancaster plant and the design, manufacturing,
testing and sales of microchannel plates and detectors for analytical
instruments, fibre optic light guides and specialty glasses
in its Sturbridge facility.
The
new standard, compared to the prior standard (ISO 9001:1994),
puts added focus on continual improvement, increased emphasis
on the role of Top Management, and monitoring of customer satisfaction
as a measure of (Quality) system performance.
