BURLE's new high-gain, high-efficiency
FM Broadcast tubes and cavities
are designed for maximum performance in FM service and minimize
both initial and maintenance costs in modern FM installations
by minimizing the number of stages required for satisfactory operation.
Conservative design and consistent performance make these devices
ideal components in commercial transmitters. The high gain of
these tubes permits drive levels to be provided by solid state
units.
Our
VHF TV tubes boast modern designs with over 20,000 hours of
documented life, for both visual and aural service and they are
supplemented with matching cavities for both high and low bands.
These amplifiers deliver power efficiently in visual and aural
or internally-diplexed power chains for efficient television operation.
BURLE's VHF
and UHF Translators are highly linear, high-gain tubes with
matching cavities for broadband translator/transponder service
and permit low level internal diplexing of visual and aural signals.
This diplexing technique eliminates the need for dual amplifier
chains and high power diplexers. The linearity of BURLE tubes
provides an economic advantage over many competitive types. BURLE
tubes provide the required linearity with Class AB operation in
contrast to competitive types requiring Class A operation.
BURLE's broad experience in RF engineering
has been applied to the design and development of specialized
circuitry for tubes (which are termed "cavities"). These
cavities are the complete RF circuits necessary to tune and operate
a matching BURLE tube. Each cavity is designed to match a specific
BURLE tube to produce a final high-power amplifier stage for specific
frequency band and service. Further, they efficiently operate
the BURLE power tube, provide tube base contacts, appropriate
cooling, and the optimum environment for long tube life and low-maintenance
operation. Procurement of both the tube and the cavity (or the
cavity designs) from BURLE (as the single responsible supplier)
assures optimum integration of both units into a reliable, high-performance
package.
